There was a manga i read somewhere explaining why the MC refused to use teleportation or phasing abilities and this is exactly why. They didnt want to accidentally get stuck in an object, ground, or wall and have it immediately kill them if they fully manifest.
..That and they thought they’d explode because of displaced electrons or something.
They should add this potential hazard to the backrooms if any future media or games that decide to explore the universe again one day. It would explain some things.
