I thought this was some lego piece or something. Had to google it, apparently this is normal. Weird

    2. Those things were magical. Our son had non-stop ear infections before he got them. They told us that they would eventually work their way out on their own. Maybe your kid is old enough not to need them anymore?

    3. I had these as a kid. One side never closed after it fell out. I’ve had 3 surgeries now to patch the hole.

    4. My younger daughter had to have three sets of tubes. Including the “permanent” ones. Which, despite their name, are not in fact, permanent.

Medicine is crazy! I can’t believe something so small makes such a big difference. My kid had them too and it was a lifesaver for chronic ear infections.

    6. I’ve had these multiple times throughout my life due to frequent ear issues, I’ve only been able to find 2 or 3 out of the 6-7 I’ve had throughout the years.

    7. Oh yeah I recognize that sumbitch. Had tubes in my ears thrice with constant ear infections. Only one fell out on its own though.

show us their cool molded earplugs for swimming.

If you have ever had these they often don’t fall out but fire out with some force, a strange sensation.

I’ve had these several times, you have the more rubber version, they also come in a harder plastic that’s semi permanent, usually pop after 4-5 years.

They are a miracle invention, you go from sounding like everything is underwater and it is really hard to understand people talking to you, to instantly hearing again, it’s literally like pulling your head out of a pool.

Millions of kids, myself included, would have probably died of pneumonia from chronic ear infections in infancy if it’s weren’t for this tiny tube.

      Truly a revolutionary procedure.
