The caption on the original identifies the location as Kyiv, 1913. The exact street is unknown. The image shows a group of women and children in traditional Ukrainian clothing standing on a street between wooden houses.

For anyone interested in viewing the stereoscopic effect without glasses:

• Cross-eye method – cross your eyes until the two images overlap into a third image in the center.
• Parallel viewing – relax your eyes as if looking into the distance until the images merge.
