Yeah, that was tough. I was a sophomore at Concord High School on that day.

You called it. I was on pins. 5th grade, they wheeled that TV right into the room. We saw it all in horrific fashion. I was too young to completely understand what happened, but we felt it.

Roll the TV into the class.

Same bro. I was ready for it but thankfully it never came.

NGL, with how bad the camera feed was, I was praying the stutters were just from the broadcast.
So glad it all went well. An amazing milestone for NASA.

I was 9 years old, at home with asthma when the Challenger took place. That explosion was devastating. They named my elementary school after Ronald E. McNair a while later.

Nevermind they launched several shuttles after and even more manned launches since…

Was it freezing overnight? I didn’t see any reports on the weather

My dad kept saying “hope it doesn’t blow up” before the launch, which concerned me since he saw the Challenger explode and knew was probably going to blow up beforehand.

It’s fine. No one has been warning for months about an issue on deaf ears this timeÂ

Seriously, I’m watching just saying to myself, please don’t blow up, please don’t blow up, please don’t blow up, I was so so nervous. It was emotional watching it count down and launch.
