Well, to be fair, the painting depicts a slave, multiple generals, someone cosplaying as a Native, and a few farmers. Also, the Deleware crossing was at night.
So, while I understand the patriotism, im not sure this is the right meme flex.

I know your heart is in the right place but that’s not the case. For those interested, I recommend reading this for a different perspective.
I like the sentiment, but I’m American enough to admit that most of our Founding Fathers were elites who owned *plantations* (i.e., incorporated farms, as opposed to farms for feeding yourself and local trade) and wanted to dodge taxes from a sovereign across an ocean who’d never set foot in these colonies. I know, that’s a lot to unpack.
Now, what really motivated the non-Founding patriots to fight for the American Revolution was all the hardships that the British military inflicted upon common civilians as collective punishment: increased bureaucracy for the “little people”, forcing civilians to house military “peacekeepers”, being arrested and tried for treason without concrete proof simply because you had an interaction with “known anarchists.”
Because of this, I’d ask OP to consider using a different image to communicate their message. What you’re saying is true: ***Well-Organized Working Class Americans Change The Country For The Better***. But I’d consider using things like the Workers’ Strikes, how Theodore Rosevelt was elected, patriots defending our country during the War of 1812.
