This is at Skansen in Stockholm, Sweden. While Skansen is an outdoor museum, the cats were part of the Children’s Zoo, which also has other small furry critters such as rabbits and guinea pigs.
The cats also had an outdoor area, so I think they have it better than many other house cats, save of course free roaming ones.

Lmao this gave me whiplash to see on this sub. I remember this exhibit from when I went here in 2013, I can’t believe it still looks exactly the same. (Minus the cats I assume)

That is freaking adorable.
This reminded me of my university. We had fenced-in study gardens and it was a common prank to post zoo-style signs outside. “Student habitat” “Do not feed” “Please refrain from making loud noises” “May become aggressive if disturbed”

It’s nice that they offer things like this. Where else would you be able to see house cats?

Wait, do the house cats just sit there looking bored like they own the place? That might be the most accurate exhibit of cat behavior ever created.

did they also include the 3am zoomies exhibit where the cat sprints full speed for no reason and then acts like *you’re* the weird one

This is actually how my family got their family pet, about 30 years ago. They had an exhibit like this but it was with rare breeds like Bengals, Orientals, Persians etc. My family member worked for the zoo and got a cat that didn’t have the right temperment to be on display. I dunno what that meant because he was the greatest house cat ever. A purebred maine coon who lived to 18.Â

This reminds me of the rats in the Washington DC Zoo!

just a bunch of tiny apex predators ignoring enrichment, sleeping 16 hours a day, and judging everyone who walks by like *we’re* the ones on display
