There are a group of idiots out there saying this because they want to invalidate Obama’s presidency and say anything he said or did was invalid since he was not an American citizen, and therefore could not serve the office, because he was born in Hawaii.
Except that Hawaii became a state in 1959, and Obama was born in 1961.
And that ignores the fact that Hawaii was a US Territory since April 30, 1900 – 7 years after sugarcane plantation heads decided to overthrow the Hawaiian monarchy with a coup and forced the Queen to sign over the Hawaiian islands while under house arrest.
