You would think that a teacher would know how fractions work.

Someone used AI to generate a number line.

Am I missing something. The measurement starts at 1/4, counts 4 x 0.25 spaces, and correctly measures 1.0.
It is the bottom line that is the correct measure, not the measure along the top. It is a clever way to test Yr3 understanding.
The only error is the 1 above the line.

Guessing this is rage bait. There’s an A at the top left so I’d bet that this is one of 4 answer choices with the question being “which is a correct scale” and this is not the correct answer.

I see the teacher failed the CAPTCHA.

Shit like this is the exact reason I got in trouble during university. Last year, my provincial government (Manitoba, Canada) stated that they want to get rid of the mandatory math, science, English and social studies credits you need in university to become an elementary to middle years teacher. While this didn’t affect me because I’m in the senior year stream wanting to teach highschool, I still complained because if you haven’t touched math since you were 18, how well could you do when it comes to six years in the future.
My take was very unpopular among elementary stream students, because they weren’t a fan of the specialized math class they had to take (which was built around k-8 math).
Idk, I know that the teacher probably just used AI, but that issue gets me worried about the students I may have one day and their levels on math comprehension

We’re all focusing on 1 being more than 4/4. But what of 1/4=0?
