Our two dogs, we call them roommates. They don’t cuddle, they don’t frolic together. They get fed at the same time, they go out at night time, but minimally intersect even then.

Our cats hated each other (got years apart both as adults) until we got our dog. Then it became a matter of survival and they found strength in numbers against out dog and now tolerate each other. Our dog is curious to one cat and apathetic towards the other unless they go near his food bowl. There is little peace in our house.
