
This cross was created for the tomb of Gisela of Burgundy following her death in 1006. It was commissioned by her daughter, Queen Gisela of Hungary, the first queen consort of Hungary. It was probably crafted in Regensburg, Bavaria, where Gisela of Burgundy was buried. It is made of a variety of precious materials, including gold, precious stones, pearls, and silk. Today, it is on display in the Schatzkammer of the Residenz in Munich.
