Buddhism in Japan, wasn’t only meditation

      [META] While in other parts where Buddhism was practiced, monks often stayed to their mountains and played no role in politics except in dire times of needs like in Korea against the Japanese Samurai invasion and in China fighting pirates. Meanwhile in Japan they had way more involvement in its history.

      Uhh no. In both Myanmar and Sri Lanka, Buddhist monks started genocides (pretty successfully too), and Thailand is a Buddhist country with military dictatorship and a lot of pretty violent suppressions.
