Nuclear power is so dangerous we need to make up accidents

    1. It is wild how many people still think the Simpsons version of nuclear power is actually real life.

    2. If we started making memorials for hypothetical accidents in other industries, we’d run out of granite by Tuesday

    3. It’s funny because nuclear is statistically one of the safest forms of energy, yet people act like every plant is a ticking time bomb

I guess the break nuclear shills took from posting stuff like this is now over and we’re about to get spammed by it again……

    5. The more you meme about this the less chance we have of archaeologists in the future discovering a memorial to a nuclear disaster there is absolutely zero historical record of to explain why its there and that is very funny

It’s just me or lot of meme sub on reddit are trying to proof a social or political point instead of being funny

    7. The problem with nuclear power isn’t the safety. It is the fact that, they either gonna be operated by profit oriented organizations or government workers.

    8. Coal plant has a malfunction: “Damn, power is out, we need to fix it”
Water energy generator has a malfunction: “Damn, power is out, we need to fix it”
Wind energy generator has a malfunction: “Damn, power is out, we need to fix it”
Solar energy generator has a malfunction: “Damn, power is out, we need to fix it”

Nuclear power plant has a malfunction: “Whoepsie, meltdown! Guess we need to create an 30-km (2,600 km²) exclusion zone for a dozen generations. Also, have we found a solution for the waste that will be hazardous for a few millennia yet? No? Oh well…..”

    9. Nuclear accidents have to happen exactly once to be devastating. Can you imagine another Chernobyl in the middle of Europa or next to Los Angeles? It’s high risk (we might have to take).

    10. Your face when you realize who is behind every single “green” party or non-nuclear activist group

    11. Another thing to note are the mechanics of their made up nuclear accident:

So in their little story the cooling system failed and there was an explosion.

Gösgen has a lot of redundancy. Next to the copies of the backup generators for fuel pumps there’s also a passive system that would inject coolant if the pressure within the reactor vessel drops. Thus the core overheating is practically impossible.

However if god himself interfered and made the cooling system fail there still wouldn’t be an explosion.

The explosion in Fukushima was most likely a hydrogen explosion. Basically if the fuel rods get to hot an element within the reactor and the steam create hydrogen. This reacts with the oxygen and you have an explosion. This couldn’t happen in Gösgen because first of all it has a very strong containment building around the reactor, as most somewhat modern plants do, that can withstand immense pressures. It also has hydrogen control systems.

The accident couldn’t happen in reality.

We already have perfectly valid energy sources that don’t poison vast swatches of land if some asshole cuts corners to save a little money. Do that instead, and only do Nuclear to the extent we need to. And I do mean /need/, as in ‘nothing else works to make up this difference’

The only danger nuclear power posesses is the threat to the elite’s wallets when they can no longer sell their coal

t’s giving the same energy as my mom worrying about things that haven’t happened in 20 years.

10 bucks says the elites did Chernobyl to scare the world away from nuclear so they could keep making hundreds of millions off of fossil fuels.

Imaginary victims are the easiest to mourn because they never complain about the service.

    17. This is how you know the oil and natural gas cartel succeeded with with their fear-mongering.
What’s more baffling that a nation like Germany shuts down nuclear plants and then switches on coal plants.

    18. I have been saying for more than 30 years that nuclear energy in the form of fission is not the solution, but rather a phase towards better technology.
There are now countries that admit they have made a historical mistake.

      “Nuclear accidents aren’t real.”

Cool story, bro. Hey, where can I unload this nuclear waste?

What happens if a missile hits one though? Does that start Chernobyl Twosies?

My heart goes out to the… ~~5000~~ people or so around the world? ~~for real? Scratch that.~~… The uncountable masses! That has died due to… mostly Chernobyl… and probably a few other horrible, evil, and definitely deeply immoral nuclear power plants and their accidents! ~~ffs, who wrote this shit, BP?~~

“If nuclear energy is so dangerous, why are their only *three* completely uninhabitable zones on earth in under 100 years?”

    23. The amount of copium for nuclear energy is insane.
You guys are simping so hard, I really hope you get paid for it.
It just doesn’t add up anymore to invest in nuclear energy.

    24. hm…just ignore this big pile of toxic waste that turns every location it touches in a not usable land of death
