Mary Banker was the OG Pick-me! What a dunce. “Why hold out on the husband ?” Well perhaps he was a drunk who blew through their money every payday so that she didn’t have anything left to buy food for the family. (That was the original reason for Prohibition, btw. So many men did that every week and kids were starving. Very sad state of affairs.)
Everyone else has common sense and morals, except Paul at the end.
He should marry Mary, then they could live happily ever after and steal from each other until one of them wins.
