My remote is so old that the HBO button is from 4 rebrands ago.

Roku remotes are an accurate indicator of what was ‘hot’ at the time

I wish there was a way to reprogram those buttons to channels I actually watch.

I’ve gone through three generations of firestick, and none of them have the same service buttons. The first one doesn’t even have them at all, which I only noticed a few weeks ago

LOL. That is hilarious. Although, in all fairness, that could mean that your remote control is only about seven months old. 😉

Does the button still work for HBO? I wish there was a way to program the buttons if the app doesn’t exist anymore

That is not an old remote lol I’ve had maybe one remote with those options on it, the others were mostly just numbers

    7. At one point I had 3 different HBO apps on my Xbox. I still don’t understand why they couldn’t just update one app with each useless rebrand.

    8. If you want to get real technical about it. HBO Max is not a rebrand of HBO NOW but a separate streaming platform so your remote has a defunct streaming service on it.

    9. Also that Amazon Instant Video logo. After some googling, that means it’s pre-2018.

    10. I have the exact same remote. Roku TV from late 2018.

Still works. Best 200 bucks I’ve ever spent!

    11. Mine has something called “Xumo”. I don’t know what that is and I don’t care to learn.

that button has outlived four separate marketing teams’ attempts to figure out what HBO should be called. the remote just kept going, completely uninterested in any of it.

I’ve got a remote for an RCA brand VCR kicking around somewhere. The buttons were hard like sprinkles.
