More than 25 years ago, I worked as a contractor at National Power in the UK, doing computer work on the coal fired power stations at Drax, Eggborough, Ironbridge, Didcot etc. We were installing software and I needed to compile source code on site and only a certain site had a compiler that I could access so I have to copy the source code to one site, compile and link it and copy it back to the site I was at. the password to access the other sites was ‘ChangeMe’. they hadn’t changed the default installation password. This was the coal fired power stations that provided the majority of the country’s power about 26 years ago and the security was a joke. I’m surprised they weren’t hacked on a daily basis.
