“Dedicated law enforcement partners”, breaks my heart to see the system failing these people

But they couldn’t even bother taking this poor woman concerns seriously. Rest in peace. 💔

Police giving themselves a big round of applause for solving a case they were negligent in is interesting.

Fuck that sheriff’s office. Her family needs to sue.

No joke. 2 weeks ago I got a text from a friend that said “please call 911, (address), he’s going to kill me”
The fucking cops interrogated me on my friendship with her for 10 minutes, told me if they weren’t buzzed into her building there was nothing they could do, sighed in discontent that they had to spend time on this, and took an hour to get to her. Luckily she was not killed, but very shaken up and being held hostage by a knife welding meth head.
Cops are useless pieces of shit. Shout out to Chicago pd officer Gonzales you piece of shit, thanks for not calling me back to let me know how she was

I’m guessing this is the department responsible for her death?

The shocking disconnect between the victim begging for help and the post glazing about the PD’s “dedication” couldn’t make it more clear. Police officers ARE NOT there to help you. If ever you are helped by police, it’s because that particular officer was a good person.
The field is called Law Enforcement. Take that literally.

OP I think “complaining” is totally out of line. I know you posted this in good faith and you make a good gesture in posting these two things, but she wasn’t complaining; she was pleading for her life. The way we memorialize these events in words is really important.

I don’t want to upvote obvs. But like it’s a post that needs to be pushed. It’s all fine until it isn’t. And when it isn’t… Dude it’s not. Shit goes from 0-100 in a half second.
I just can’t fathom what makes people think that anybody would willingly or decidedly wake up one day and go “yeah I’m gonna put all this shit on and lie through my teeth to the ceiling about this shit” knowing full well the backlash that they’ll receive given its worked out not to be legit. What’s worse? The fact anyone is willing to chance the fucking fact. Like dude worst comes to worst people investigate the safety of an individual and find that person to be a fucking moron. That only comes back on them.
This is real life though man, people die out here.

The fact that they thank the “dedicated” law enforcement is genuinely fucking disgusting. Their laziness is what got her killed in the first place.

Seems like when it comes to defense we are getting to the point where it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for help. Stay safe out there.

Stalking someone needs to be made a severely punishable crime. Make it a law! It’s so bullshit that police can’t do anything because the stalker hasn’t “done anything.”
Get caught stalking, get arrested with no bail because you’re a danger to society.

This is real for so many stalking cases. The cops don’t do anything until you’re physically injured or killed. No matter the evidence. It’s fucking scary.
Also this is not interesting as fuck, this is EXTREMELY infuriating. I hate our “justice” system.

It’s okay, and encouraged, to validate what we read on Reddit, everyone.
My ex husband breached a restraining order against him nine times in one year, including breaking into my house and trying to run me over with his car. Police refused to help in any way, even after I reported the break ins (yes, plural) they wouldn’t come out to take a report because it’s “technically his house too”.
Another time I called because I found he’d built a hide in the bushes behind my house with a clear view into my kitchen and living room, the cop literally told me “why don’t you just get a dog”.
One officer said to me “I just think it’s a bit ironic to want a restraining order against someone you’re married to”. I pointed out that the man I was married to had punched me in the face until I was unconscious, and kicked me down a flight of stairs, to which the 6’2″ cop looked me – a very petite woman – in the eye, and said “you just need to stop being a victim, I’ve faced guys having a go at me, you can’t let them bully you”.
Posts like this make me so FURIOUS. And so much realisation that I’m lucky to be alive.
