Generators?
wotsname123 on
On visiting Cuba you quickly learn that in an attempt to earn foreign currency, tourists are provided with a very different standard of living and access to resources than the locals. It may feel unfair, but on the other hand, no-one would visit and spend foreign currency (that they badly need) to live like a Cuban local.

Who’s causing the blackout in Cuba? Trying to vaguely smear the people who brought aid to Cuba is also very stupid of you. That hotel is the only hotel that Americans are allowed to use if they don’t want to get a felony when they come back to the US.

It has a generator. It’ll stay lit until the diesel runs out

China can solve this problem immediately with a cargo ship full of solar panels and batteries.

There is a 5 star hotel in Cuba?

The humanitarian convoy just brought them solar panels and medical supplies.

I love how many people are commenting “it’s a generator” ” probably a generator”, it’s pretty funny theyre missing the point. The op is likely commenting on the socioeconomic aspects of the video that the majority of cuba doesn’t have money or privileged enough to have electricity, but the 5 star hotel is.

Old people and medical needs people in their homes are going to literally die from this, and more at hospitals. The population also wont be able to cook or have running water. They’re trying to topple the government by making the population suffer en masse.

the cruel US blockade males exemptions for privately owned facilities such as the hotel. Our comprehensive blockade killed at least of dozen of people on ventilator this weekend.

Why don’t they have power? Is it because of the blockade the USA is doing to stop fuel entering Cuba? I reckon it might be.

Might have smuggled/invested in a solar panel battery system. It wouldn’t take much energy to keep newer led lights on at night if you have the right equipment. It wouldn’t make sense to be running a generator cause even though that hotel has cash they won’t be able to get fuel as easy when the whole island is out… If it was really fuel it would make sense to spare it for cooking etc

Back up generator still needs oil or some equivalent to run so they’re gonna run out of it soon. How much could they possibly have stashed in drums in the basement? Backup generator isn’t gonna be providing for electricity for more than a few days I wouldn’t think… Especially given how much they’re apparently using given all those lights.

I live in a house that was once a part of the bed-and-breakfast property next door. We are still on the same power line as the rest of the original property. It is totally separate from the other houses in my holler. So when the rest of the valley loses power, the Manor is always first to be fixed. It’s useful to us but seems like a waste of tax-payer funded materials.
