How so exactly? Pretty sure the colonies told Britain to their face that they sucked.

This makes zero sense and doesn’t have a whiff of truth to it. The American colonists were largely proud Englishmen who were fine being British, as long as they were mostly left to their own devices and included in parliamentary decisions affecting the colonies. They really only started getting ticked off after the Seven Years War, when Britain imposed new taxes and grew more involved in colonial affairs after well over a century of benign neglect. Once these things happened, colonist very openly aired their grievances.

    3. this feels like the resentment was hidden when is reality it was more like
“hey I like you but don’t do that”
      *does it*
“I’m being serious dont do that”
      *does it*
“next time im going to punch you Im not joking anymore”
      *does it*
      *gets punched*

like there was no hidden animosity, it was very very much in the open

And France was like, “Heyyyy I think they’re a bitch as well! How about I add billions of livres of debt so I can avenge the death of my previous ruler??”
