Processionary caterpillars! They are covered in extremely irritating hairs, so be sure to not handle with bare hands, and keep any pets and small children away! I reckon you could redirect by placing down a folder vertically like a wall (something they can’t climb, so they will travel along it) to encouraging them to move away from the circle. These caterpillars travel by following the one in front of them, so the conga line should head elsewhere!
