Evil. Demonic and evil. I hope the people that did this rot in hell forever. Look at the helplessness of those poor people. They look so innocent and probably don’t even know what wrong they have done to be tied up and imprisoned.

As sad as it is to see this, the horrific way the First Nations people of Australia have even treated is so rarely mentioned across the globe.

Truly one of the most horrific colonising regimes 🙁

These displaced Aboriginals – many as young as 10 years old – were often arrested on false charges with confessions often obtained at gunpoint. Jailers in the area were paid commissions per Aboriginal prisoner, and they were used as essentially slave labor to build roads and infrastructure. A commission on human rights was horrified by the neck chains and tried to discourage their use, but they stayed in use until **1956**. The other half of this picture (to the left) has what looks like teen boys chained by the neck as well.

60 years later, man would reach space for the time, and just 8 years after that , man would land on the moon for the first time.

Don’t forget the Pintabi 9 didn’t come in until 1984.

Ration camps were still a thing heading into the 70s

Wasn’t Australia meant as a prison for the white man? Did white men misunderstand their role?
