Anti-aging plastic surgery and botox use vs aging naturally. A comparison between two women of similar ages

    1. I saw this recent interview clip and found it interesting how similar but different these two women were visually. Similar hair, similar weight, and only a few years apart in age. Tracy Smith (news anchor) on the left is 57 and Lisa Kudrow (actor) on the right is 62.

The big distinction is that the woman on the left has received fairly extensive plastic surgery, face lift, botox/fillers, etc to minimise the effects of aging. Whereas the woman on the right is aging naturally (except for a nose job she did when she was younger).

It’s just interesting to see such a direct comparison between two women similar in all aspects except for choice of getting plastic surgery and beauty treatments vs aging naturally. I’m not in favour of one method or the other, I just found the comparison interesting that is all.

I much prefer honest people than those hiding behind artificial shenanigans.
Can’t quite remember the exact quote, but Cameron Diaz said something along the lines of, I’d rather see myself age than not recognize what I see in the mirror.

People get really weird about this stuff, but I really don’t give a fuck if you get surgery lol. There is no moral dimension to your appearance, do whatever makes you feel good, hair transplant, makeup, surgery, whatever. Both of these women look fine to me.

“Theyre both blonde white women so this is apples to apples” i dont think so. I think the best you could do is compare identical twins who both stayed out of the sun and generally took care of themselves, just one of them got plastic surgery and the other didnt.

    5. Great share. Hope this makes more people decide against it. I dont ever think plastic surgery looks good. I think we’re gaslit into ruining our bodies

    6. I’m pretty sure both of them have had work done but a huge reason for cosmetic botox or filler not to be used in the face (aside from complications) is that it prevents people from being as expressive. This causes a lot of issues for deaf and HOH people being able to interpret emotion and even some other disabled people such as neurodivergent people.

and this is the example of perfect case surgery and genetics. A lot of older folk (even with grand money) cant achieve anywhere near the look of the anchor.

    8. Look older, regal, sophisticated, and confident. Or look weird, insecure, slightly younger and make 9ther people uncomfortable. Choose one.

    9. One smoker, one non smoker. Having your face basically trapped in a small smokehouse of your own doing will not help with aging.

    10. First of all who cares? Second, I think it’s funny you think Lisa Kudrow doesn’t use Botox or had plastic surgery when she clearly does/has.

Lisa Kudrow did use Botox, but stopped because of dry eyes. And she had a nose job as well…

It’s beautiful to age. To have the privilege to age, lord knows not everyone does.

Genetics has A LOT to do with aging. I met a woman that looked 20 years younger than she was and her answer was it ran in the family. All the women looked amazing late in age.

Aging happens in bursts , a burst around 60.

Lisa looked even better 5 years ago which is the age of the host.

    14. 2 people the same age wont even age naturally the same way. i have no problem with cosmetic procedures, I even thought about hyaluronic acid, problem is when you overdo it and you end up looking like a mummy

    15. This is what I realized about British actresses vs US ones. I’m amazed by the facial expressions of British actresses and how much emotion they can convey primarily because they don’t use botox or other plastic surgery, in comparison to their US colleagues. Just watched Nicole Kidman in Scarpetta… What the hell is going on with her face?

    16. There is so much more to it than this. Stress, spending time in the sun, hydration, genetics. They all play a huge role in how we look as we age.

It is tough where to draw the line. I used to think no one should get cosmetic surgery, but the more you think of it, the line gets blurry. Rhinoplasty for example…there are some people with tragic noses that can be easily fixed and show no signs of surgery, dramatically improving someone’s appearance and self-confidence. Repeat on almost any part of the face. Hard to say people aren’t allowed to spend their money to feel better about how they look.

Some woman have zero bust. That can be very detrimental to their self-image and breast implants, when done sensibly, can improve their self-image drastically. Orthodontics could fall into the same category, but most people don’t judge people for that. Hairlip surgery is another one…super easy and improves the experience in life massively.

It just doesn’t seem as black and white as I used to think.

    18. One woman looks great and I hope that the other woman feels great, because I don’t like the shape that procedure causes

Different people age differently, even ignoring cosmetic surgery, which *both* of these women have had.  This is a pointless comparison.

    20. This is a cool argument, but why don’t you actually use somebody who hasn’t had botox and a nose job

    21. I think it would be interesting if everyone was less concerned about looks in general. I get that on a biological level we are attracted to certain physical qualities, but holy hell, the internet has driven everyone towards microscopically parsing everything into dust. It would be amazing if we all just cared a little less about what other people looked like.

aging is normal and natural, I wish we weren’t so fucking psycho about it. I hate this conversation

I can’t stand looking at actors who have next to zero ability to make facial expressions anymore. It’s uncanny.

Love Lisa Kudrow. So happy another season of “The Comeback” is happening.
