With that being said, she’s not a victim nor a hero. She should reject her old views and then we all move on. Any other approach to this situation is extracurricular and irrelevant.

Unless she has a history of hate crimes or something, let’s not pretend that gay and its slurs weren’t widely used by teenagers in the 90s and early 2010s. There was an entire South Park episode about this.
