My textbook about US history has a portion about Alex Jones, the war between 4chan & Tumblr, and Elon Musk.

    1. > If Henry Ford was the touchstone for the age of the automobile, Elon Musk is the touchstone for the Internet age.

This shapes my opinion of Ford more than it does my opinion of Musk.

What in the fucked texas board of education is happening with this horseshit?

    3. The fact that the entirety of human history is just ‘some shit that some regular person lived through as just the day’s news’ has been an incredibly interesting realization to properly understand as I get older.

9/11 was a quarter of a century ago. And while I was too young to remember it super-well, there are lots of people capable enough to discuss it without having been born yet for it.
This extends back to every event in human history. And that’s wild.

    4. omg we’re literally living through history now.. kinda weird to see alex jones in a textbook when he’s still out there being alex jones.

wait a fucking second this literally means that the past we remember is now far enough removed from the people learning about it in school that we are officially history. thats fucking WILD.

“Elon Musk was the touchstone for the internet age.”

Yeah, like turning Twitter even worse than it already was and allowing Grok users to literally generate *AI child abuse material of real life minors*.

That bit *needs* to be in the history books forever.
