My older sister was looking after my 7 year old son while I was with lawyers dealing with my divorce. While I was in rooms wishing I could be cuddling with him on the couch she was letting him stay up late, buying him anything he wanted and showering him with cuddles and kisses and I am so grateful for it. I’m worried this divorce is rough on him so I’m glad he has time to feel special and hopefully forget all about it while his aunt Emma is taking over.
My older sister and I have our problems because she used to pick on me when we were kids like the time she dropped her suitcases on my toes when we were on holiday (I was wearing flip flops so it really hurt) and we do still argue a lot even though I’m almost 40 and she’s over 40 (which I use to tease her) but I will always be grateful for how amazing she is to my son. She dotes on him and she actually asks to look after him, I love how much she loves her nephew and knowing he’s being spoiled is keeping me going through his time.

That’s so sweet! I’m glad that your son has an amazing aunt and that you have someone to help you through this difficult time in your life!!
My mom was a terrible mother to me, but she’s an amazing grandmother to my son, and it helps redeem her a bit in my eyes. Her and I won’t ever be that close, but my son adores his Nana, and she would do anything him.

I love being an auntie, my nephews are 4 and 6 and every stage has been fun. I loved holding them as they fell asleep and I love playing air hockey with them and hearing them theorize black holes (the oldest one’s newest fascination 😅)

It’s an aunt’s job to spoil the nephiews, after all!
