Not the Apollo theater many of you might be thinking of. This one was on 42nd street between 7th and 8th.

    3. Nowhere near 1950. The film *Broken Star* was released in April 1956.

Other posts of this photo have placed it in 1959. Anyway, we know for certain it is no earlier than April 1, 1956.

    4. The photograph is probably 1959. The New York Times captioned the incorrect date that I used in the title.

    5. THEY CALL ME MISTER TIBBS!!!

Dude was an excellent actor breaking ground with each role.

    6. I highly recommend *The Measure of a Man*, one of his autobiographies. He was an amazing man who knew what he wanted, worked hard and sacrificed a lot to realize his dream.
