The 3-Meter Egyptian statue of Darius the Great is an outstanding work from Achaemenid Empire (550-330 BC) with an inscription: “This is the same statue that King Darius ordered to be built in Egypt so that whoever sees it in the future, will know that Iranians are the owners of Egypt.” (4320×3016)

More info:
In December of 1972, [The Iranian-French archaeological team](http://www.seemorgh.com/uploads/1391/10/janpro1.jpg) found this amazing ancient statue in Susa, on the west side of the entrance to Darius’s palace. They found a larger-than-life size statue of Darius the Great, which unfortunately had no head (Some experts have theorized that when Alexander invaded Iran, his soldiers intended to break this statue, but due to its heavy weight, they were unable to do it, so they broke its head). Darius is depicted wearing a Persian dress, and armed with a Acinaces at his belt. The statue was originally colored, as the remains of red paint were found on its shoes. The statue was made in Egypt from gray granite, but was then transported to Susa by Xerxes I. The base of the statue is in Egyptian style with a depiction of Hapi. [The sides of the base](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_statue_of_Darius_I#/media/File:Darius_I_statue_list_of_subject_countries.jpg) represent numerous countries under Darius’ reign, with a total of twenty-four. Jean Yoyot suggested that the statue was put in front of the Atum Temple in Heliopolis. Chemical analysis has indicated that the statue comes from Wadi Hammamat in eastern Egypt. Along with the mentioned inscription (Which is in Old Persian, Elamite and Babylonian), there is another inscription on the other side of statue:
“Atum, the god of Heliopolis, has chosen him [Darius] to be the lord of all those who are surrounded by the sun’s rays, because he knows that he [Darius] is his (Atum) son. Neith, the goddess of Sais, also chose Darius to become the Lord of the world.”
This outstanding ancient statue is kept at The National Museum of Iran.
>”This is the same statue that King Darius ordered to be built in Egypt so that whoever sees it in the future, will know that **Iranians** are the owners of Egypt.”
Does it really say “Iranians”? Or does it say “Persians”?
