    1. One big reason majority of new car sales is ev is because that’s basically all thats being offered here in Norway.

New and good models with upgraded hybrid drivetrains? Nah not available for us here so we are forced to have a more shit selection of cars.
And theres another thing not being brought out from the Reuters, yes the market share is electric but sales are going down

    4. EVs are trash just a populist solution for rich countries. Kids die in cobalt pits, people get poisoned, and ecosystems are destroyed before these cars even leave the factory. Tailpipe emissions might be gone, but destructive and expensive lithium and cobalt utilization rarely happens properly – instead, most of these cars get sold used to poorer countries, skipping responsible recycling entirely. And yet, people sit in their shiny EVs lecturing about ecology and pretending they’re saving the planet – pure hypocrisy.

Oh, I see how it is lots of downvotes, zero replies. Can’t argue because you’re too lazy to educate yourselves and too dumb to understand the numbers. Let me spell it out for you:
One EV battery + car = 8-12 tonnes of CO2 just to produce.
Lithium extraction = millions of liters of water per tonne.
Petrol car burns ±17,000 liters of fuel over its life, plus refining and transport emissions.
So yeah, EVs can reduce emissions if you run on clean electricity, but making one isn’t harmless, and your moral grandstanding in the comments? Completely empty. Keep downvoting, it only proves my point.

    5. I would very much prefer to be in an EV when in a traffic jam during a snowstorm.

Electric Cars use basically no power when stationary and the battery can run the AC for multiple days without problem. ICE cars on the other hand need to keep the engine running in such a scenario.
So in actuality the EV is totally fine long after all the ICE cars ran out of gas and the occupants froze.

    6. Oil prices gaping people’s asses harder than the rich in epstein island in some ramdom kido

    7. Do you know how many times I’ve been caught in a storm in Wyoming on I-80. After like 30 minutes you look down and realize your at a little below a half tank.. the anxiety starts to seed and fester lol

    8. Goverments should make hybrid cars more appealing with taxes. Make the cars chargeable, so that you only really use the combustion engine when you need range. A small turbocharged engine that is allowed to always be at it’s optimum engine speed can be very efficient. (the engine is charging the battery, not driving the wheels) You can even use a turbine if you want since the engine is allowed to run at constant speed.

Internal combustion engines are amazing because they deliver power over a wide range of rpm’s, but we don’t need that with electric engines. Probably better to let the ic engine run at it’s optimal rpm’s at all times charging a battery and use the way more efficient electric engines to move the vehicle. It seems most militaries around the world go this way with their new vehicles. For them noise also matters so diesel-electric makes even more sense.

And when they run out of arguments like this “muh snowstorms” one, they just default to telling you that if you drive an EV, you’re not a “real man”

    10. Norway is kinda interesting regarding electricity. Power is so cheap that lobbies don’t add light switches and just keep lights on 24/7, cuz with led the power over a decade is cheaper than adding the light switch.

Also houses are pretty badly insulated.. with so many heaters powered by electricity everywhere

Me when my v8 makes v8 noises. I could never own an electric car, motorcycle, now that’s a big possibility
