    2. Whenever I see Jim’s picture, I can’t help but think of Val Kilmer and vice versa. God bless their souls.

    3. His father was a full admiral in the navy. That apple fell a long way from the tree.

Jim and Pamela were never legally married… but just the same… he also had a relationship with Patricia Kennealy from my understanding. They had some sort of a pagan, (not recognized by the state) marriage… I think she ended up taking his last name? Regardless, I’m fairly certain he was considered not married upon death.

    5. She was a heroin addict and died of an overdose just a few years later. She and Jim were staying in Paris together when he died. I read an account that he started doing heroin too, and, in Jim Morrison fashion, pushed it too far and accidentally overdosed in the restroom of a bar across from his apartment. The people at the bar didn’t want him found overdosed there and carried him to his apartment where they placed him in the bathtub, which was a common, if ineffectual, way of treating overdoses at the time. People hoped the shock of cold water would somehow wake up an overdose victim, but it never did.

Jim’s father, the navy Admiral, chose his epitaph.
It reads, in classical Greek, “True to his own spirit.”
