The two things you can always count on under a Republican president

    1. I’m about the last person to defend a Republican, but putting Vietnam on Eisenhower’s doorstep instead of JFK’s and, especially, LBJ’s is a hell of a move.

    2. But people who don’t keep up with history, facts, and things that are related to their interests…”I vote and support republicans because they had a better understanding of the economy and take better care of our economic system than the typical democrat.”

How [un]informative of the typical yokel.

This misinformation. Eisenhower didn’t get us into Vietnam, LBJ did after listening to the Rand Corporation think tank, whose reports were completedy wrong.

Vietnam was jfk, Clinton had Balkans Bosnia kosovo, and Obama had Afghanistan as well

Nixon and that cretin Kissinger are also responsible for giving my country, Chile, our own 9/11 decades before the USA got theirs. Fuck Republicans

I mean screw this admin right now, but this is hella misleading. JFK and lbj got us into Vietnam, Clinton didn’t have an official “war” but he had Kosovo, Bosnian war, and Haiti. Then the most blood thirsty was Obama attack pretty much all of the middle east: Afghanistan Iraq Syria (obviously where Trump is getting his ability to do now) Libya Pakistan Yemen and lastly (thank God) Somalia.

This isn’t a party thing. We discovered during world war II that the American war machine significantly boosts the economy. As it forces manufacturers to make military grade parts thus hiring more people who now have more money to spend back into the economy. That is why every time the economy is doing s*** we go to war or at least we start attacking other countries and burning some of our munitions so we have to replenish them.

Edit: Wild how even I (as a liberal.) Will mention the fact that Dems are just bloody as reps and still get down voted. If I’m dying tell me show me a source that says I’m wrong.

    7. Alright, that’s unfair to Bush Sr. He put together an international coalition, kicked Iraq out of Kuwait, and stopped there. It was an in and out mission, with tiny casualties, with sole mission of liberating a victim of Saddam Hussein’s aggression.

    8. Nope.
Anyway it was not Eisenhower who blew up Vietnam. When he left office there were 900 Americans there.
Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson blew it up.

Nixon kept it going, despite the Pentagon having already assessed that it was a no-win war.

I would have said Kennedy/Vietnam and (more so) Johnson/Vietnam.

And Iraq 1.0 was set up, started and finished relatively quickly. About the best you could hope for.

Eisenhower didn’t start the Vietnam War. He enabled the conflict, but he never committed troops to Vietnam.

Honestly, one of the best presidents we’ve ever had. He shouldn’t be lumped in with the others here.

    11. Voters (and non-voters) just don’t learn. They control this. It is (was?) a democracy!

    12. ClassyReductionist on

You are confusing LBJ (who was a democrat) with Eisenhower, who got us out of Korea the day he was inaugurated. Low effort Meme and not humorous.

    13. Bush 1- and Desert Storm.

It was literally a UN mission that had a crap ton of countries and full warnings with a legit plan ready.

It is no way terrible at all as it was fully supported worldwide.

We literally made sure the Arabs nations were in on it and part of everything.

    14. Eisenhower is a fucking stretch and a half and also Iraq 1.0 was sanctioned by the UN and justified.

This is coming from a lifelong dem

Everyone dogging the Republicans here and rightfully so, Democrats are also bought by the military industrial complex. It’s an illusion of choice, Republican admin goes to war, billions of dollars are given to “defense” contractors then Democrat is elected, don’t change anything meaningful, Republicans come back and go to war again. Obama also killed thousands with escalating drone strikes, not technically a war but they are all subservient to the same corps and lobbiests

    16. The same scheme.

Max out the government credit card so the following Democrat led government has no funds to do anything.

Traditionally, defense spending has been the easiest to increase.
