I’m not a fan of this religion or something, I do think the messaging in said book is more problematic than in the other ones.
However, Christianity had been just as violent for a long time, and only stopped being used as an excuse for violence in the last few centuries, and places ruled by this religion we’re talking about have had some remarkably peaceful periods.
What I’m saying is we’ve had a bit of a recency bias, awful rulers can abuse any religion for violence and self interest
