Frame of reference is everything. What does the policy say? Who oversees it? What was the policy before this guy? Furniture might be reasonable? I agree they should not be buying lobster, steak and crab. Apple devices? That might be reasonable and within scope of work? Donuts? I’m ok with or other foods like pizza/ sandwiches. Typically you have a budget for food and approved items or places you can order from. Ice cream machines is a little weird, same with piano. Fruit baskets is also strange but maybe a lot of birthdays?
Basically this whole thing looks like a disingenuous attempt to make the guy look bad. He does not need any help with that he has done plenty of other egregious things which should land him in jail. Republicans will use this smear campaign as justification to support the guy on his terrible stuff and say it’s just the libs looking for any little thing.
