Unfortunately, this is more than mildly interesting because its one of the few ways pain can be effectively controlled in them. Some studies have shown a lack of data that it is metabolized like we should expect in other animals to cause pain relief, but clinically there are clear improvements.

My father is a zoologist. He told me that most snakes have a serious drug problem.

This is very common in the snake world. They first start out with prescription drugs, then theu work their way up to fentanyl. I blame poor upbringing

I find it interesting to see how different zoos take care of their animals. The one I go to often is partnering with a dozen other zoos in the US who carry sloths and are trying to measure something in their blood to determine stress levels and try to introduce things into the sloths habitat to get a baseline level and introduce items or routines into their habitat to try to reduce stress levels and make their lives a little better and make them happier. They have keeper chats and do training sessions where the keepers look at the animals like ask the tiger to stand on its back legs with his arms up so they can check out their stomach, arms, legs, claws and if they see anything they can take a picture and send it to a vet for immediate checkups.

oh so when a snake does fentanyl at it’s workplace, that’s “mildlyinteresting” but when i’m doing fent at my workplace it’s “extremely unprofessional”, “the reason you’re being fired” and “the reason the cops are cuffing me”?

Fentanyl was a godsend for my dog after back to back gastric surgeries which saved his life. Saw no apparent side effects.
Dose makes the poison.

Considering snakes have scales and they differ from species to species, do you have to calculate the skin absorption rate for each snake?

Fent is used in hospitals and has been used for a while now. The zoo uses pain relief medicines too. Also it looks like snakes like fent
