Then again, every sphere isn’t 100% round if you think about it.

      Remember kids if the earth was the size of a bowling ball it would be smoother than an actual bowling ball to the touch

    2. It’s an oblate spheroid, not a sphere. The Earth’s poles are slightly flattened and it bulges at the equator. Think of it as if you took a soccer ball, deflated it slightly, and squashed it a little bit. So, Earth is round, but not perfectly round.

      Even with the water removed & it’d still look nearly perfectly round

      I mean, it isnt but in the grand scale it’ll still have rounded edges

    4. The distance between Earth’s highest point (Mt Everest) and it’s lowest point about 19 – 20 km while the Earth’s mean radius from its core to the surface is approximately 6300km.

      So that massive gap 19 – 20km variation is only 0.3% of the Earth surface. Woth that in mind, it should be no surprise that Earth is pretty much perfectly smooth and round.
