    1. Green energy and shade for cars, great. It’s horrible to get in a 100 degrees hot car

Why is this interesting as fuck? I mean how boring is your life if you think this is interesting as fuck?

How is it to walk or take public transit to the Cincinnati zoo?

This is a photo of a very large parking lot. I’m assuming the other half of it is convenient to walk to without going through the parking lot, with a bus stop maybe?

Not to detract from all the green energy being produced here, but it would be better for the environment if so many people felt that they had to drive.

    4. I guess that means if you hate woke you’re not allowed at this zoo. How many anti woke gun owners go here and support the commie zoo they hate?

    5. We do the same in South Africa! At Makro stores(similar to Costco in America) their parking spaces are shaded with solar panels and it’s quite effective at keeping cars cool .

At night the lights under them are motion activated and on a timer to save energy as well

Also makes it way cooler to get back in your car from touring the zoo on a hot day

    8. This should be the norm everywhere..when the sun gives you energy for free then store it. More demand will make the solar panels cost eventually go down!

all the government buildings and college campuses here have had these up for at least ten years now. maybe yall should step up your game.

    10. Uh we have this at the library here in Irving, TX. I think a lot of businesses here do too. It’s 100+ in the summer so it has made sense here for years.

I was lost on this and many other areas. Medians and sides of highways can grow sage grass which can be turned into ethanol. Large roofed buildings many can hold panels but don’t. Now with the advent of clear panels I kind of want them to become standard for all buildings. This can change things like skyscrapers into mini power plants.

The dr office that built new did this and I was just giving them so much praise for that.

    13. Never understood why we weren’t doing this even before e-cars became ubiquitous — power the mall, keep the cars cool, everybody wins

    14. This is a win win strategy. Cheap locations for energy companies to generate electricity, land owners can rent out the parking lot for a few bucks to help write off the cost of business, drivers get a nice shaded car in the summer months.

LegoLand FL has half their lot like that as well. It’s not really half, more like the hotel lot. But not the park lot.

I love it. Keeps the cars shaded and chargers. They also have chargers in theirs. We love to be able to charge our van before heading back home.
