If I’m ordering at a counter, kiosk, drive-thru, take-out, or restaurant with a playground or clown mascot, zero 0%.

    2. It’s just keeps creeping up. I remember when 10% was a solid tip. And occasionally I’d go nuts with 15% for a great experience and beyond expectations for service.

Now 15% seems to be the acceptable minimum. And everyone expects a tip on everything.

I finally gave up on tipping for food that I’m picking up. Just not doing it. The only exception is the little mom and pop places that I’m a regular at that I want to keep alive.

Otherwise I’m not tipping on anything unless I sit down at a table and someone brings me my food and is refilling my drinks.

    3. is this even real?

if so, why hasn’t the name of the restaurant come out?

bullshit like this – if real – should be exposed and shamed

    4. The silly tipping culture alone is enough reason to move out of the country.

    5. – Standard
      – Liked it
      – Great job
      – Unnecessary
      – Can I have your number

Bro if I see that I’m rounding up to the nearest tenth & leaving that.

I feel like this is rage bait, but either way. Like cmon fuck these pretentious places if they are doing it. If you wanna make more money, do something that makes more instead of being a douche about it.

    8. Give us the name of the restaurant or I have to assume this is fake… although… I can see a hipster Chicago restaurant doing this.

    9. If your lowest option is 15%(!) and is that condescending you are greedy and get 0% from me. If you rely on the goodwill of people don’t be an asshole. Be thankful for every dollar you get.

I refuse to pay into the American tipping culture, im not going to subsidize a company’s refusal to pay its employees.

If I saw that, I’d have given 5% and said tell your snarky boss to give you the rest of your tip they think you deserve.

10% should be the bare minimum for excellent service.. did people forget tips used to be 5-10% standard and only like the last 8 years did it double to 15-18%,?

At the end of the day it shouldn’t be on the customer, or be the customers fault for paying a businesses employees… I don’t care if it affects their livelihood, the more you take it out on the consumer the worse it gets. Without restaurant owners taking accountability to pay their own staff and have tips be a “gesture” like they are intended nothing will change. Will this increase the food prices? Sure, but then nobody has to deal with it and a tip would be a bonus.

At the rate this is going I’ll probably be paying for 2 meals while only eating 1.

    13. Just for that, it would be a 0% from me

If you need to beg or manipulate people for a tip, that means it’s not deserved.

    14. 20% bare minimum ? Why not just allow the customers to get the plates from kitchen

    15. JudgementalChair on

If 20% is considered the bare minimum, I will show them that it can, in fact, be more minimal than that

The worst I’ve seen is for online orders. I’ve been asked to tip, on fucking online orders where they just pick and ship it from a warehouse somewhere and they wanted 100% tip. I cancelled my order so fast.

    17. PhaseNegative1252 on

When did 20% become the minimum tip? I was always taught the minimum was 15%
