I don’t know why anyone still bothers to go to that sub. You know what you’re going to get.

    2. I purchase a lot of materials for my job and every supplier now has added a tariff line item on invoices.

    3. Is this surprising? Anyone who speaks out agisnt Trump is instantly banned in that place.

You have to turn a part of your brain off to be a conservative in this country. There was a guy in there a couple years ago, in the same fucking thread, excoriating socialism *while also* lamenting that his social security payments had only gone up like 4% over 3 years.

Hates socialism, wants more **social** security.

It’s like watching someone trying to replace a lightbulb on an unplugged lamp. They’re so close to the answer but they just can’t see it.

    5. “I didn’t see much increase myself there for I couldn’t imagine anyone being affected by the tariffs”

Absolutely immaculate hoop jumping right here

    6. Chances are this guy does not to the day-to-day shopping. Or, you know he sits behind a desk staring at a monitor with a window overlooking St Basil’s.

Well, then this person shouldn’t feel too bad if the nations affected by tariffs get their money back.

    8. This is why conservatives suck though.

      >*”I am not impacted, therefore this is not an issue.”*

And you see it all the damn time when they do 180° turns after something does finally impact them. Not always mind you. Some of them are so far gone that even losing family members to these insane policies isn’t waking them up out of their cult.

    9. I bet they will have an excuse for their rising gasoline costs too. These people never travel.

The impact of tariffs has been minuscule vs the impact of inflation over the last five years.

Come downvote me, but know that you live in the fantasy world, not me.

Tariffs are reversible. Inflation is not.

Tariffs are a tax on consumption. Inflation is a tax on your savings, your income, your purchasing power.

To try to simplify this discussion to “Prices high, tariffs bad!” truly is worthy of this sub. Facepalm indeed.

    11. That sub is just mainly bots and propaganda accounts. Check the history of those accounts with blank avatars and you will see barely any activity, old or weeks old account and no other subs they are active in besides that one.

    12. “Conservatives” and “reality” don’t even belong in the same sentence, unless you include “don’t live in” between them.

They close their eyes and say they don’t see increase. Whether you agree with tariffs or not if you can’t see effects you insane or aren’t buying anything.

I know there’s a lot of bots but I know a lot of people are just out and out lying. This woman was talking about how she was buying fresh food, was avoiding processed foods and her grocery prices had never been lower. My $4 a gallon milk and $8 grapes would like a word, and meat prices? Don’t. Get. Me. Started. Eat liver says RFK. Fuck off.

That same dickhead was throwing joe biden I did this stickers everywhere a few years ago.

Actually lets be real, this person doesn’t exist and its a bot

The shit they say in that sub lol, and you can’t even say anything because every post is flared and if someone does get a comment in they just say it’s a brigadier. ❄️’s

    17. Fluffy-Structure-368 on

This is actually true. Inflation has been very normal the past year.
