Tbh I’m in need of having a conversation with my roommate about this, cause I get it. Shit seems doom and gloom for the first time ever for him, but I don’t really know how to tell him that I never really expected things to be better.

The people around me just really want to pretend like my rights have absolutely nothing to do with theirs and go on with their days. THEY JUST DONT CARE. The idea that government policies might negatively affect them is absurdly foreign, and they sincerely refuse to acknowledge the situation for its actual severity.
I agree 100% with what he says about community. The people I work with would shoot me in the street for 5 cents off a gallon of gas. So I’ve had to go out of my way to find the people that feel this shit and want things to be better through supporting each other.
