I mean, that’s how steam generators work. The only difference is how the water gets hot.

Wait till you find out what the boiling water does.

It’s why solar and wind are superior. That and probably the cost difference and time it takes to build.

You would think we could energize magnetic fields directly

Heat energy to mechanical energy to electrical energy. Much of which then is used for more heat energy and more mechanical energy.

I found this one fusion company, Helion fusion, that’s taking an alternative approach to fusion, so boiling water may no longer be necessary

I’ve always said there are exactly two ways of generating electricity at scale on planet earth.
1. Directly absorbing the raw power radiated towards us over a distance of 93 million miles from an insanely massive fusion reactor at the centre of our solar system.
2. Thing go spinny.

Making steam for heat and power is remarkably efficient. It’s one of the weirdest properties of water.
I’m no physicist. Just aware from my education that steam power has some remarkable properties.

Try finding something else that’s as effective yet cheap. Steam turbines have come very far.

you got a better idea?

Might not be like that for long. There is a steel plant using a supercritical co2 generator for their waste heat.

The collective knowledge of mankind is created specifically for the purpose of figuring out how to boil water more efficiently

I mean water is the most abundant molecule on this planet. This isn’t profound. What did they expect nuclear power to do? Harness the power of Vibranium?

Man I hate how water is used for everything. Isnt there like something easily movable that could turn our gears instead then we wouldnt need to boil water.
