Every outdoor runner

    1. Running outside is 1000x more pleasant in the winter than it is in the summer.

You can always add more layers, you can’t get more-naked when its 40C with humidex

    2. I have been running for close to 30 years now. Given the choice between running outdoors or on a treadmill, I will choose outdoor 99,9 % (the remaining 0,1 % being when the streets are frozen solid, I am not a great fan of slipping and breaking my arms).

Outdoor is far more entertaining. It is healthier. I get to pet dogs. I sweat less. And so on.

    3. I regret running. I’ve always been fit, and there was no need for me to run, but in my late 20s I’ve bought into the running culture for a couple of years. I ran 5k twice a week and noticed zero improvements compared to not running. Hated every second of it

    4. It’s funny to me how everyone who decides to “get in shape” immediately starts running.

It’s like someone who’s never played a video game deciding to start with Dark Souls. You chose the most brutal path from day 1.

I was laughing at the beginning but now I’m questioning my life for how many of those applied to me….

Well, i guess its time to go for a run and outrun that thought!

    6. Gyms typically have time limits on cardio equipment if it’s busy. If I’m running in the snow, it’s because I’m training for longer distances and likely won’t hit that distance on a treadmill before I have to give up the treadmill.

    7. I used to run distance in the ice and snow and while it sucked horribly the hot sandwich and ice cold beer after felt incredible then taking a hot shower and napping with a heating pad ouhhhhhh

I don’t have the heart to send this to my hardcore runner friends.  In reality, they are almost all the most lovable and sociable people I know.  I think this clip more accurately depicts how I’d like to imagine how runners think in order to feel better about my own laziness.

    9. At least he appears to be running in the streets or on a sidewalk. What I can’t fathom is people running downtown. Where they stop every 20 seconds to wait for a crosswalk. What’s the goal? You’re not developing any cardiovascular health.

    10. No runner thinks this. They don’t GAF what other people see or think.

Running on a treadmill is monotonous and boring. Outside has fresh air, changing scenery, and you can readily see your progress.

Running when its cold is the best time to run. After the initial half mile, your body is nicely warmed up and you don’t need or want layers. You will dehydrate yourself if you do.

Running is one of the easiest hobbies to get into and an easy accessible way to exercise. And a great way to make friends with people with a common interest.

    11. About 10 years ago…

Me: (about to warn runner & his wife/girlfriend or sister that I was just told by a park ranger who took off to get yellow tape & closed signs not to run the path headed through the woods as there was a massive septic tank backup that flooded the area with piss & shit)

Runner: *does angry finger wag* Do NOT interrupt my run!

      Me: Ok, sorry. Enjoy!

I run outside cuz my treadmill is broken….

      This feels like major projection

I dont think Ive ever gave a thought (or a shit) what people think about me when I run.

    13. No wonder they say running is therapeutic, you seem to just get all the damn thoughts for today out in one session
