This road in Vietnam goes over the bedrock

    1. You probably don’t see that in developed cities because you can’t run plumbing through bedrock, or at least that would be expensive. So you tend to build up areas above the bedrock. I’m guessing this town does not have sewers.

      Chicago had a related problem of being too close to the elevation on the lake for sewage to flow well and they fixed it by raising the whole downtown by several feet.
