      It may be so that people are less likely to buy multiple sets, leaves stock for others without explicitly putting a ‘I set per customer’ sign out

      He knows people won’t buy more than 2 anyway and wants to make them feel like they’re getting even more of a deal when they buy a pair

    3. Friend of mine used to walk around at hippy shows selling “heady nitrous brownies, one for $5 two for $20.”

      It never got old and almost nobody ever asked about the price discrepancy.

    4. I remember when McDonalds had a 5 piece nuggets on the dollar menu, and a 20 piece for $5 special. And they gave 1 sauce tub for each of the 5 pieces vs 3 tubs for the 20 piece.
