Where’s my money?

    1. … Wait didn’t the corporations pay more to import those products? Refunding wouldn’t make any sense

    2. Ah, the classic ‘Where’s my money’ question, aka the universal icebreaker for accountants and accountants-in-training. Spoiler alert: it’s probably hiding with my missing socks and that one pen that never works.

    3. Not only will they happily pocket those tariff refunds and not refund anything to consumers, they won’t lower the prices that increased because of tariffs because you’re used to paying more now.

Big profits coming. It’s gonna be a great quarter…

Watch how mad people get when they don’t lower their prices. Because they aren’t going to lower their prices. No one will lower their prices lol.

So that 2nd Amendment eh? I wonder why they thought we would need to fight against a tyranical government or something.

    6. If they get sued enough they won’t have a choice. Spend the money on lawyers fighting it or just pay the people back and call it even

    7. I have already seen at least two companies that i love go out of business because of tariffs 🙁

    8. I don’t think the protection was for the consumers but the businesses. Isn’t this often the case?

I can’t imagine logistically any refunds coming, even if a company wanted to do so, but still enjoy any use of this meme template.

    10. Many companies were banking on the courts doing the right thing and ate the tariff costs instead of passing them on to the consumer. I’m ok with those companies refilling their coffers with the illegal tax refunds.

What I’m not ok with is prices that went high staying high. I held off on buying an imported appliance last fall because it bumped up $50-100 in price from the tariffs. All summer the import company was going through their warehouse stock but the new shipments came in with the tariffs. I’ll buy from whichever importer drops the tariff fee from their prices first.

    11. Corporations didn’t charge tariffs to their customers. They just raised prices on items. So there isn’t a specific fee to refund to anyone. On the other hand, the government charged a specific fee to the corporations, so that should be refunded to the corporations.

    12. God, that fucking AI slop copy of this meme that was reposted a billion times on Reddit made me have a visceral reaction to seeing this format 🙁

Anyone expecting a refund is ridiculous. The companies still had to pay higher prices, that money is gone.

The true “wtf” moment is going to come when they refuse to lower their prices to pre-tariff levels.

    14. Actually, the government needs to refund us and the corporations need to lower prices. Neither will happen.

    15. Imposing Tarrifs without reducing or abolishing other taxes like the income tax or property taxes was criminal. You can’t have both, it’s BS. I’m already getting squeezed on everything I earn, I buy, and I own.  The saddest part is that we would get by just fine with only a simple sales tax if there wasn’t so much fraud and corruption in our kleptocratic gerontocracy . You’d find less corruption in Afghanistan.

Maybe government can give everyone a pizza party, it’s the only thing that would make sense
