Sure except violin is the only musical instrument I’ve yet to hear played well by a robot without instantly being able to tell it’s a robot. That one definitely needs a human.

    2. come to think of it, why DID we decide to focus on making AI do all that things we want to do instead of making them do the work we dont want to do? Are we stupid?

    3. There was a famous tweet along those lines in 2024 by @AuthorJMac:

      > I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.

    4. Do you know why is that?

Because only people from the elite work on AI. I bet if the elite were forced to do the chores they would have invented the garbage AI robot for a long time.

    5. So the robots got the creativity and we got the 9 to 5 deliveries… yeah, this isn’t the future I imagined

That’s funny and more concerning to be honest but hopefully things will turn around and hey I will take jobs that are boring and not take the jobs that require creativity to be honest

    7. Tbh, the original image would be exactly the same, but with people stressed out about timelines in the rooms.

It’s not about what we replace, it’s about replacing everything so we don’t have to work. But it’s slow, and we begin with the simplest jobs, which for modern AI (LLMs) is things related with computers. Because they’re part of it.

And remember that we already replaced many, many manual labor jobs in the past, it’s not as of we started with this. From full factories being automated and requiring no more repetitive or dangerous work, to giving a motorbike tio a courier instead of a normal bike. All of that is part of the process

    8. You act like it’s automatons doing this stuff.

It’s f’n software programs, man. It turns out things like generating music and pictures doesn’t need knees and elbows and hands.

You wanna complain about the things that you want to be done and aren’t being done then go take it up with the robotics division. AI =/= robots.

    9. There is only one circumstance that I’ll derive any joy from people in these scenarios losing out on their opportunity to follow their passions. ..

And that is if they’re the same kind of peice of shit who denigrates, shit-talks, or even undervalues all the work that goes on in the background and that they take for granted on a daily basis.

The kind of person who diminishes professions on the grounds that its manual labour and they think they’re “above that kind of work” or that that work is for the stupid or uneducated.

To all the people who treat everyone with respect and value for their contributions, I’m sorry this happened to you.

To all those with an inflated ego who think that honest labour is beneath them and who wouldn’t even know an honest days labour looks like, I have no sympathy for the rude awakening you’re about to have. Frankly, I hope this learning process is unpleasant enough that you’re forced to learn a sense of humility.

We really spent 100 years of sci-fi worrying about robots stealing our identities, only for them to steal our art projects and leave us with the dishes.

    11. Thank goodness the artist labelled all the robots with AI or I wouldn’t know they weren’t human.
