    1. If it was just about election security, it would be paired with making it easier to obtain ID for those who don’t have the right kind but are still constitutionally eligible to vote.

Instead we see efforts to frustrate and complicate the process, or dismissing extra complications as “I guess you’re just lazy or don’t want to vote hard enough”. So is it a right or not?

Actual voter fraud is virtually nonexistent, yet GOP election fraud is the elephant in the room.

    3. If it were, then voter ID would be free, easy to get, and this change would give people sufficient time to get it

    4. Just in time for libraries to STOP providing any passport services. Oh gee that’s not a sliver of voter suppression.

Is voter ID really about making elections secure?

If it was, Republicans would be fighting tooth and nail against it.

This is a losing issue.  I don’t know why the left clings to it.

It’s like the Republicans that are still trying to put people in jail for pot.

    7. There are rigorous election security systems in place, people act like anyone can go up and vote. The real weak link in our election system is the regulatory capture of voting machines, but no one talks about that!

    8. It’s about making it easier for republicans and Fox to rig state and local elections so they can keep their ill gotten power.

    9. I believe that the banner in the photo should be pictured being carried through the air by a crow and maybe an Incel guy flying his model airplane drone?

(I am so sorry and upset that this new measure will make it harder for people of color to vote. Though, don’t forget all of the women it will disenfranchise. I am still thinking about getting a passport, and wondering which of my names is supposed to go on the passport — maiden or married?)

    10. Fun fact: the USA is almost 250 years old. Somehow, they’ve made it this long without it.

    11. In isolation, before answering this question, you would first ask if elections are currently not secure, and you would have to say that they are very very secure. You can tell, because Trump has been complaining about corrupt elections for 10 years, but has never shown any evidence despite being president for 5 of those years. Voter fraud is a crime, so if there were any evidence fox news would be showing that 24/7. So obviously its about something else, which is about voter suppression, ie the opposite of what they say.

    12. It’s yet another attack in the GOP’s War On Women. If a woman takes her husband’s name or hyphenates her name, she has to find her birth certificate. Well, where the hell is that?

She has to see the county clerk in the county of her birth, or send a request for a notarized copy. Well, how long will that take? It’ll cost money, too.

Which is nothing compared to how much money and time it’ll take to get or renew a passport.

Notice that Trump & Chumps are bringing this up just now? If this piece of crap bill becomes law, it will create huge bottlenecks in local and federal offices.

States’ deadlines for voter registration run between none to 5+ weeks.

By the way, you already can’t vote if you’re not a citizen. Voter fraud in the US occurs approximately once in every 6 -7 million votes.
