“I just wanna kiss my fish”. Just saying it makes no sense for someone to be upset especially when an Irish band performed in tribute of those lost on 9/11 and the fact Puerto Rico is part of America.

Kinda exposes the real issue here: they only like white europeans like them, they don’t want anyone outside of that in-group.

    2. Everyone seems to purposely not understanding the bad bunny message in the half time show was. Bad bunny shows the independent Puerto Rico flag, not the territory one (the blue is different) thus separating from the “United states”. He then promotes Pan Americanism by listing the counties in America (north and south) saying were are all American. Meaning that he is saying he aspires to not be American (although yes he is American being that he is from a US territory)as in United States, but American as in pan Americanism.

While I have no issue with the halftime show, you are misrepresenting the argument here. The people who are mad are saying such because his songs are in Spanish, not English. I would question why the language of the lyrics are so important to them because I can’t even understand half the words in most of the songs I like but that’s neither here nor there. Their concern is language, not nationality. So if you’re gonna throw a fit about it, at least get the criticism right.

Now, the real reason they’re upset is because their news and commentators of choice are telling them to be upset. It’s the same reason dipshit Redditors and TikTokkers lost their minds over the Sydney Sweeney jeans ad, the same reason Republicans got upset at Obama wearing a tan suit, and the same reason Democrats got upset about Trump having two scoops of ice cream while everyone else got one. None of it matters. Everyone is being played for fools; beings to be acted upon rather than thinking and acting for yourselves.

    4. lol, the issue is political, just like this meme. those that objected to him did so mostly on the basis he shits on the USA, blaming the USA for the issues facing people in the colony of Puerto Rico. the super bowl has had numerous latin artists in the past, none getting any significant backlash. i mean if bad bunny was generally known as a person that sang about sunshine and puppies, there would a super low level of noise.

    5. I’m really glad that he stood up for his people, his island, and the Latino community, and that he stuck it to all the conservatives and the Republican Party, and that the NFL had his back.

That said, and with Spanish as my native language: I so goddamn don’t get him as a good singer, his lyrics are lazy, and some of his songs are plagued with horny womanizer shit cranked up to 11. I do think his marketing and PR teams are fucking legendary. But if you compare that stuff to the Europeans on the right: they’re leagues apart

I know this might obliterate my karma, but screw it

The “kiss my fish” line aside that song was so god awful and whiny. Pretty much goes to show how fragile conservatives have become.

The main issue seems to be it was all in Spanish. That’s genuinely a bold move for the Super Bowl and there’s no reason to underplay it. It was a loud and proud display of La Raza, and they got flustered when people reacted to it as what it was: a big F U to most of America (which I enjoyed)

    8. Couldn’t understand what was going on, but judging on his attire, I thought a fencing match was about to take place! That’s the big thing that disappointed me… wanted to see a sword fighting!

Bro is American. I can’t understand most lyrics anyways and this dude makes good music. What’s the problem?

Two completely different groups bro, also most Americans I see fangirling over Europeans in the Olympics are the same ones that loved Bad Bunny’s performance for his “inclusive and family friendly” message. Which if you speak Spanish you would be able to tell it was one of the most vile and sexually explicit concerts ever performed.

    11. Dudes lyrics suck and even the Spanish people didn’t really understand him according to my algorithm as someone who doesn’t even watch it over here in Aus.

    12. Quick question: and I mean this in the most respectible way possible.

Did the Irish band sing in English or Irish?

Bad Bunny is KNOWN for not taking gigs in America because he wants to sing in Spanish and represent his people.

I guarentee you if he sang in English it would not have been an issue at all. Generally people don’t vibe with music they don’t understand, and if you say otherwise you’re in a vast minority.

    13. This is why I don’t pick a side in politics… All these people arguing in the comments are doing exactly what they expect. Bickering and arguing dividing it’s not the left or the right. I don’t know how much of the deep State stuff I buy into but…. If it was real I would want people to be fighting over stupid s***. Let’s keep arguing race and political views it’s for sure gotten us to a good place in the world.
