    1. If you can’t see that Trump/Vance/any MAGA candidate is worse than *insert Democrat* you might be a lost cause btw.

We can ask for better and accept that the baseline of *not actively evil* is a good starting point for taking back our country from literal fascism.

Also a lot of the anti-Newsom posting feels like astroturfing against the loudest voice speaking out against the regime but c’est la vie 🍵🐸

    2. OR….you can show up to the primary and vote in an actual person who won’t just be a glorified stopgap of do nothings that only delays the further descent into fascism. Newsom is just Biden 2.0. Yes, if it comes down to it nothing is better than worse; but lets stop acting like Newsom is just the defacto nominee. Even Californians don’t like him.

The fact that these anti-Newsom posts are coming out 3 years before the election means the bOtH sIdEz people are scared

      Newsom will lose to Vance…

In order to win, democrats need revamp about half their platform right now, fight hard for the new version for 2 years to build credibility, and run a new person in ’28 who doesn’t have their establishment baggage.

I hope to hell they do, but so far it ain’t lookin’ good.

Given the performance of conservative extremists, this is not an entirely worthless approach.

That said, vote for the change you want in the primaries, vote against fascism in the national.

Its crazy that there’s not a single competent uncontroversial candidate that we can all rally behind

    7. No ,God please, no.

I can’t handle another election to vote against a candidate. Please primary someone I want to vote *for*.

    8. And this is how you continue with a dogshit Democratic Party who put maintaining the status quo over actual change.

I would be more-than-happy if we got a more progressive candidate than Newsom. But the primaries is where we should be having that fight. But it seems like progressives have a tendency to sit on their hands (or just fail to agree on a candidate to back) as the primaries come and go, only to then scream from the rooftops about how they don’t like they guy that Dems picked after everything has been said and done.

    10. I want options… and I want the DNC to pick who we want and not just give us another place holder like they did with Bernie Sanders and pushed Hillary on us. I voted for her but damn I hated doing it.

We not only need to get out from under the thumb of MAGA, but also from under the thumbs of the billionaires, Israel, our healthcare system based on profits rather than outcomes, and the Right.

Yes I want maga to lose. But can we as democrats stop going for the party line moderate who gives nothing other than “I’m not Trump?

Liberals keep loosing because the Dems keep pushing the most middle of the road candidates who will fundamentally change nothing. And then the voters get pissed because nothing has changed other than the concentration camps closing. That’s not enough.

There are serious economic problems in our country and we need to address them. Just going for “I’m not maga” isn’t enough. Whoever runs in 2028 has to have a legitimate policy platform

Why are you so set on Newsom? Seems like the smartest thing to do is get a better candidate. Bad Democrat candidates got us trump in the first place.

    14. The way elections work:

We have a Primary for Democrats. We all vote for the person we want to go to the General Election. They count the votes. That person will get the nomination as the Democratic Nominee for President.

We have a General election. Then it become a vote between the Democrat Nominee or the Republican.

We need to show up for both, then follow through by voting who wins the Primary. They may not be the one you voted for, they may not be the perfect candidate. But we vote for them. Otherwise Republicans win AND we get Republicans and Trump saying they have a mandate to do all these horrible things.

I voted for Bernie in the Primaries. But when he didn’t get the votes to win, I voted for Hillary and Biden in the General. I also voted for Harris. Imagine how much better our country would be now if Harris had won.

    15. Fuck Newsom. Go ahead, call me a bot for wanting someone who doesn’t support ICE, genocide, & Billionaires.

    16. I get it but this is how the system keeps screwing us. Keep em angry, keep em fighting amongst themselves and the oligarchs feast on our (American) dreams.

Vote for who you *want* in the primary, then vote for who you’d *rather* have in the general election. Which is to say, everyone fucking get out and vote in the primary if you’re registered democrat

bro they hit the nail on the head with this one 😂 politics always feels like a circus tbh

Crazy how people think he’s a good option simply because his social media team (not him, mind you) has some sick burns every once in a while.

    20. Buddhas_Warrior on

Vote BLUE no matter who!! We all know 1 of 2 people will win. If you don’t vote for a Dem. The R Will win, it’s that’s F’ing simple. To think otherwise, it’s pure lunacy and fantasy.

    21. Where was all this energy when it was between Hillary and Trump? Oh ima sit this one out? Just can’t vote for her. Really? Sitting on the couch can be fun, but don’t complain that the country is a shitshow, because you just couldn’t. Every election counts, especially the local ones. Reagan sold the trickle down? That was bs! The BS is climbing the ladder. Starts with school boards and moves up. VOTE!

    22. ConfidenceNext8641 on

imo newsom be acting like he’s scared to offend anyone. bernie ain’t afraid to call it out tho. big difference in approach

    23. If Newsom wins the primary, fine, I’ll vote for him. I won’t like it and I don’t personally like him and think he’s piece of shit, but he’s better than the alternative.

If you don’t want Newsom as the candidate, the primaries are the time to oppose it.

    24. I’ll vote for a fucking potted plant if polls say it can beat whatever ghoul the gop rolls out in a general election
