Listen, I never put any thought how they were grown and harvest, but I assure you….it was not this.

Just ate some last night. I love the fact that my Brussels probably listened to Mexican music before they were picked.

I think that is the perfect description on the state of our economy.

A couple months ago I saw brussel sprouts on-the-cob for sale at Trader Joe’s and was blown away. I didn’t know until now that the cobs grew in muddy puddles and were harvested via pontoon. That’s pretty cool and suprising.

You know, idk what I was expecting, but not that. I love fire roasted brussel sprouts with crunchy salt and black pepper and butter.

this is NOT how they are grown and havested. they simply grow in the ground no differently than growing cabbage. yes, they are plucked off to harvest, though there could be a machine for huge crops. this must be a flooded field
I never once thought THIS was the type of machine that they’d use to harvest brussel sprouts. I didn’t know WHAT machine would do it, but I didn’t think they’d stick in the whole stock like that and sit on chairs attached to the machine. Quite considerate to the workers though, probably makes their job a lot easier than standing and rushing in front of the machine.

One of those plants that grows in a manner that you’d think someone made up but, no, that’s just how it grows.

Now I want brussels sprouts.
I recommend a shallow fry in coconut oil (or something with a similar smokepoint) then tossing them in a little honey or maple syrup, and whatever hot chili powder you can enjoy. No salt. Tasty as fuck.
Add rice crispies cereal, or ground or toasted nuts to finish, if you’ve got em.

This is in flooded field. Brussel sprouts don’t grow like this. It was either flooded from rain or maybe flooded intentionally to harvest (which I doubt).

Amazing technology for disgusting food.

That’s a flooded field. I’ve grown Brussels sprouts and they grew like any other brassica, above ground not flooded like rice fields.
