His name is Thomas Patrick Higgins… He was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1867 and he died in 1917… He was a boilermaker and a master plumber… I unfortunately did not get any of his coolness and I certainly couldn’t rock that mustache. I will say I would do just about anything to sit down and have a beer with him.
He married Mary Elena Driscoll in 1894… I would guess this picture is about 1900.

That is an awesome picture of both of them.
I love the formal dignity in this portrait, it’s amazing how well-preserved this photo is from nearly 130 years ago, their styles is so timeless, a wonderful piece of family history
I dunno, his wife, who looks like she sees every one of his punchlines coming, is also pretty cool
Considering that people didn’t smile often in old photos due to the long exposure time, that pic really shows that ‘cool m-fer’ was his resting face.
There are millions of people cooler than your great grandpa. You’ve got to be kidding me

Awesome photo – thanks for sharing! I really wanted to see what it’d look like ran through ai restoration. It didn’t do a very good job – made the lady look happier lol.
Which one was this grandfather of yours? Just to remind you – you had 4 great grandfathers!
Just that smiling rice guy.
And who’s that other feller he’s with?

Was his wife a midget
Yeah, he seems cool af. My great-grands were Irish immigrants to Brooklyn around the same time! I wonder if they’d ever partied with him. Do you know what neighborhood they lived in?
