There is or was a McDonald’s in Chicagoland that uses/d a vertical conveyor belt system for their drive-thru.

Last time I was there was over a decade ago so I don’t know if it’s still exists.

The Chick-fil-A on Michigan Ave in Chicago does this as well. I can only imagine how many orders get dropped when the staff are in such a hurry to send everything at busy locations like that.

My guilty pleasure is eating McDonald’s in every country I visit. I DONT KNOW WHY 🥲

    5. When they have these in the UK, they’re overseen by a tny Ringo Starr, but for locations in the USA, it’s a tiny George Carlin. Who conducts the little food trains in Australia?

      (…Dame Edna?)

    6. I saw a similar one in Seoul that had a conveyor sending food up from the basement kitchen.

That was also the dirtest McDonalds I’ve ever been in (which is weird, given it’s Seoul), so some of the magic was lost at the time.

    7. Yes, dishes get sent up by conveyor. But food comes down through the twin cannon ports below the M. They yell you the order number and fire it out. It’s a jackpot like game, everybody fights to be the one to catch the foodball. You get a 5% discount for taking part (but have the risk of someone else catching your order and running)
