Tylenol is like the only medication to lower a high fever. It surprised me that it was the best they had when I was hospitalized

    2. Reminds me of my old neighbors, super religious and thought just about everything in the world was a sin. Their son got sick and almost died because they wouldn’t get him treated and he developed pneumonia.

2 and 10 seem reasonable. Everything else is nuts. What the hell is their beef with juice? I’ve heard of most of the rest from these people but do they now think fruit juice is bad too?

“I will never let you know what medicine is, Travusteigh!!! You will surpress through that fever!!!!”

      – 5th out of 11 kids who died

    5. I looked up integrative medicine practitioner and it ranged from 4 semesters to a 1 year masters program.

    6. Like, some of these, yeah sure. Don’t go to Chick-fil-A or give your kids unlimited screen time… But no Tylenol or antibiotics?? That’s just fucking dumb

    7. Well antibiotics should only be used as a last resort and using Tylenol to suppress a fever should only be used for dangerously high fevers as a fever is your bodies first line of defense to make the environment (your body) more hostile to microorganisms….

Some are perfectly fine advice, that’s how this bullshit works, they integrate good advice and even scientifically-backed advice with shit advice based on “feel good” and “intuitive” emotional-based advice.

Fine if you don’t want to give a kid a juice box daily, we certainly never had, and Chik-Fil-A is mostly unhealthy and owned by bigots, even if it pretty damn good. Unlimited screen time? Yeah definitely that’s backed by science even.

But the no tylenol, antibiotics, or fluoride is new wave pseudoscience, and the rest are ok life choices but not like you’re gonna be harmed from moderate usage.

    9. Some of these are just common sense. No child needs Gatorade. No child or adult for that matter should have unlimited screen time. No child should eat take away regularly. Juice boxes are just sugar… I mean this is just basic stuff

I have a degree in integrative healthcare and this pisses me off so much. Integrative medicine isn’t against antibiotics or fluoride, or any other scientifically proven intervention. It’s about *integrating* conventional and complimentary/alternative medicine to optimize wellness by treating a person holistically. Not giving your kids food dye or fluoride has nothing to do with integrative medicine and everything to do with being dumb
